UA Cello Professor Theodore Bucholz Gets Published [Scales & Arpeggios Book]

Tucson's UA cello professor Theodore Bucholz has created a valuable resource for cellists everywhere, produced by renowned publisher Mel Bay.

We've got our hands on some copies and are excited to share them with you! Get them while you can, or preorder yours for our next round of orders!

"We created this project because there are virtually no publications that provide a complete sequential syllabus for

cellists to advance progressively through various systems of scales and arpeggios. It is intended for cellists of all ages, experience and ability levels, including teachers, students, amateurs, and professionals. It is available both as an eBook and a hard copy book.

The book includes interactive QR codes that take the reader to a substantial database of pedagogical videos and play-along drone videos complete with scrolling sheet music. The chordal drones are in every key to help with intonation—and they are not just electronic, but created using samples of real string instruments, to offer the most appealing, symphonic sound possible. They include natural resonance and a small amount of vibrato to help beautify the sound. We also feature Instructional Videos that demonstrate various technical issues." - Theodore Buchholz
